Bethune

Geography

Bethune is a beautiful Village strategically located just 56 kilometres (kms) northwest of Saskatchewan's Capital City of Regina on the former #11 highway, now the Louis Riel Trail. Bethune has a population of a growing 380. Our location provides good access to larger centres, which offer services not found in Bethune.

History
The Village takes its name from C.B. Bethune, the engineer on the first train to travel the railway in 1887.

Economic Information
Bethune Co-op provides services for bulk fuel, lumber, groceries, and a service station.

Financial services are available through the Bethune Credit Union.

Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI) is available through Metz Agencies located in the Village Office.

Mail services are provided through the Bethune Post Office.

Pioneer Grain Company Ltd. provides grain elevator services, and Bethune Farm Equipment services machinery.

Other services include The Hair Shoppe, Creative Designs by Linda, and Lisa's Daycare.

Attractions
Recreation services include Bethune Sports Day held on July 1, and Bethune Minor Baseball. The Bethune Community Hall also serves as the Palliser Regional Library. We have a curling rink as well as a hockey/skating rink in the Village. The Bethune Bulldogs play in the Highway Hockey League with surrounding communities.


Other Organizations include:
Buffalo Lake Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation, Bethune 50 Plus Club, Bethune and District Lions Club, and the Community Hall Board.
