Plenty

Geography

Plenty is located on Highway 31, 45 kilometres (kms) from the communities of Biggar, Kindersley, and Rosetown.

History
Plenty was named by one of the railway engineers who surveyed the rail line. Around the area where the community was to be located, he saw the only crops he had seen in the district after Rosetown.

Plenty was settled around 1910. By the spring of 1911, Plenty was incorporated as a Village.

Economic Information
Plenty now has shopping/groceries, service stations, picnicking, park/play area, a museum, camping, accommodations, a post office, library, day care, and courier services.

PWT Inland Grain Terminal is located in Plenty, and is a facility capable of storing 31,750 tonnes or 1,166,245 bushels of grain. It has been open since August 1998.

Attractions
Attractions include:
The Plenty United Church, which features vintage woodwork and seven stained glass memorial windows. Their are regular services held.

Plenty and District Museum is located on Main Street in a 1911 building which once housed the post office and hardware store. The collection features a kitchen, school and hospital rooms, war memorial and, in a separate building, vintage farming tools.
