The Village of Tuxford is situated 14 miles north of Moose Jaw at the junction of Highways #2 and #42. The population has remained constant for the last few years at around 100 people.
History
The Village is named after George Tuxford, an area resident at the time if its incorporation, who was instrumental in persuading the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) officials to construct the rail line north of Moose Jaw and through the Tuxford area. The Village of Tuxford was incorporated July 19, 1907.
Economic Information
The majority of residents are either involved in farming, as the Village is situated in one of the best farming areas of the province, or working at various jobs in the surrounding areas, many of which work in the City of Moose Jaw. The major employer, situated in the Village, is Double K Excavating with the peak number of employees during the summer months running around 96.

The situation of the Village makes the recreation facilities of Moose Jaw and the Buffalo Pound area very accessible.
The Village is situated within the Thunder Creek School Division, which means that the students are bused to schools in Moose Jaw. In view of the relative short distance students are not required to be on the bus for a long period of time.
The location of the Village makes the facilities of city life available while residing in an appealing rural atmosphere.
