Glenside No. 377

Geography

The office of the Rural Municipality (RM) of Glenside No. 377 is located in Biggar, Saskatchewan. The south boundary of the municipality is located 12 miles north of Biggar and borders the RM of Biggar No. 347. The municipality extends north to the North Saskatchewan River. The municipality's east boundary borders the RM of Eagle Creek No. 376. The west boundary borders the RMs of Rosemont No. 378, Buffalo No. 409 and Battle River No. 438. The Rural Municipality of Glenside No. 377 also encompasses the Hamlet of Baljennie.

History
The RM of Glenside No. 377 was incorporated in 1909. The first RM office was located in the center of the RM and was later relocated to its present site in the Town of Biggar. Some of the old districts of the municipality include Spinney Hill and Lizard Lake.

Economic Information
The main industry in the RM of Glenside No. 377 is agriculture which is well mixed between grain and livestock. The assessment is approximately $25 million. The population is 354.

Attractions
Almost 6,000 acres of Wildlife Development Fund lands and a provincial Lands Branch community pasture of 14,570 acres are features of the RM of Glenside No. 377.

The RM of Glenside No. 377 is served by two school Divisions, Biggar School Division No. 50 and Battleford School Division No. 118. Children in the municipality attend schools in Biggar, Candon, Sonningdale and Battleford.

The RM of Glenside No. 377 is served by two health regions, Heartland Health Region and Prairie North Health Region. Medical services are available at Biggar and Battleford.
