Geography

The nine-township Rural Municipality (RM) of Mariposa contains the Village of Tramping Lake and the former community of Broadacres. The eastern boundary is Tramping Lake. The RM of Mariposa is primarily an agricultural area.

History
Incorporated on April 10, 1912, with the RM Office located at Broadacres before being moved to Kerrobert in 1977.

In 1922, the municipality, with the neighboring RM of Grandview, started the Tramping Lake Regional Park.

A 24,280-acre PFRA pasture was started in 1938. The council consists of a reeve and four councilors with a full-time administrator.

Attractions
There are Aboriginal sites in and near Tramping Lake Regional Park.

Other Info
Jellicoe School is the only school in the municipality still on site.
